Scene of the month: March 2015 - "Dirty Harry"

Dirty Harry is a classic cop thriller about a rogue police inspector, Harry Callahan (Clint Eastwood), who tracks down a sadistic serial killer who calls himself 'Scorpio'. It's an intense film with some very jarring and shocking moments, which earned it an 'X' rating upon release. The cat-and-mouse plot is engaging because Harry is the only one who will do whatever it takes to stop the killer, while his colleagues are worried about rules and regulations restricting their investigation. Perhaps the most famous scene from the film involves Callahan foiling a robbery, firing a few shots from his iconic .44 Magnum (a handgun which holds six bullets) and brings the perp down in a much more badass way than just beating him up like a usual movie cop would do. He uses an intimidating speech rather than brawn to subdue the robber: "I know what you're thinking. "Did he fire six shots or only five?" Well to tell you the truth in all this excitement I kinda lost track myself. But being this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world and would blow you head clean off, you've gotta ask yourself one question: "Do I feel lucky?" Well, do ya, punk?"
